In 2019 I was working toward my teaching credential at Cal Poly and feeling burnt out, unmotivated, and uninspired. As much as I loved to teach, I couldn't help but feel like it wasn't the right path for me. 

 

Completely by chance I signed up for a floral design class. By the end of the first class, I was completely hooked on the love of flowers. So I took the class again...and then helped teach a class...and then worked in flower shops until I decided to take a leap in 2021 into creating

OAK Floral Design.

Now I take great joy in being a florist on the Central Coast. I love working closely with couples, families, and friends to bring their flower vision to life with each detail thoughtfully curated. Over the years my passion for sustainable, local, and seasonal flowers has grown as well and led OAK to the commitment of at least 80% of the flowers we work with being grown in the USA. This commitment is best for our clients, for our planet, and for us as well. 

 

The business looks a little different since that first arrangement but the joy that flowers bring to me and to others hasn't changed a bit. Thank you to everyone who has been on this journey so far and I hope you continue along with me as we create beautiful flowers together!
